This game is full of bugs. it was rushed into production. for starters the SD-70s do not work. there missing the wheels and don’t take commands so any activity that requires those locos you can’t do. Also on the Harlem line there’s a house right in the middle of the tracks along with a bridge. on the Glasgow line there’s mountains coming up from the middle of the track. Also there are quite a few locos that’s do not work. while it does include more locos then the 2006 game 2006 was allot better. Auran was also supposed to release engineers edition 2009 but i see that was canceled. just so you know this is a DVD-ROM so you must have a DVD-ROM drive to install the game.
When i was playing this game there was many errors and glitches. Whenever i downloaded routes, locos, or rolling stocks there would be errors. Sometimes when i play the game, the train would derail even though im going UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT. ALso the signals and autopilot have errors
I’ve always been a fan of trains and even had my own layout when I was younger. So this game is pretty much for train enthusiasts. However there are some draw backs that come with the base game. Many glitches and problems with layouts that you can use as soon as you start off, some of the locomotives have problems with their commands. However this game is a lot more fun with mods. A friend of mine has this game and it has a whole bunch of locomotives as well as rolling stock that do not come with the base game. Not only that but there are also mods that have new command settings which work a ton better than the stock ones. I do recommend building a layout from scratch as it allows you to make sure there are no glitches with scenery objects being out of place or even in the path of your train. Auran has a section on their website that has a large selection of modifications for the game. New locomotives, scenery, ect. While the base game is pretty bad the mods more than make up for the glitches.
